God Behaving Badly
This was a worthwhile read. It had been sitting on my shelf for the last 10 years (since graduate school where it was on a “further reading” list for a theology course). I thought the information was solid, as was the emphasis on tensions in the Bible. There was an encouragement to not expect every theological question to be answered or resolved, but that instead a commitment to more research and diving in rather than avoiding is what’s needed. My qualms were mostly that some of the references in this were quite dated and many of the jokes did not land for me. I read the 2011 edition, but I'd bet the 2022 refreshed it for today's audience.
