The Hero of Ages
This was a great finish to the Mistborn trilogy. I put off reading it for a while because Sanderson books take me so long to read. Seriously, how do they even fit that many words on a page. The type isn’t that small either, but the margins are. Enough complaining. Every time I pick up a book by this author, I expect more action. And there’s plenty of it there, but what impresses me are the character studies. Each one goes through transformation, failure, and triumph. I will say I was not as invested in Spook’s storyline in this one, but I loved Sazed’s journey and of course, always rooting for Vin and Elend. I cried through the final 15% of this and it left me wondering how all of this connects to the rest of the books in the Cosmere. It feels like a huge commitment to keep going, but I have a feeling I’ll get there, if slowly.
